DOB: 7 April, 1957 You don't need to know that Height: 5'7" (1.70m) to 5'11" (depends on the heel) Hair: Usually blond (but whimsy has called for more than one change of hue) Eye color: The blue of a Forget-Me-Not Build: Not as thin as he used to be, but still fit enough to turn heads, thank you very much.

General Information

Appearance: Always well manicured and stylish. Lockhart favors colorful robes and has recently become enamored of Muggle fashions (ladies's or men's, it doesn't matter, as long as he looks fabulous in it).

Outlook: It's not easy being this fabulous. It takes a lot of work and a lot of galleons. Sadly, fame is a fickle friend — At least that's what Gilderoy remembered reading once. Possibly in his own autobiography. Very entertaining read that was, he recommends it to everyone — and his book royalties aren't quite what they once were. In light of his special needs, Gilderoy has learned to market his talents in several new arenas, not all of them meant for the public eye.

Strengths and Abilities: Keen eye for detail as long as it's something that interests him. Good with colors, lines and fabrics. Expensive tastes and just enough knowledge to actually know what he's buying. Smooth and charming (but not as much as he thinks).

Weaknesses and Character Flaws: Most All of the first thirty-five years of his life are nothing more than anecdotes in his books or tiny flashes of vague, almost memories. He's self-centered, vain, spoiled and sometimes not all there mentally.

Personality Quirks: His favorite topic of conversation is himself, but he has worked to broaden his conversation range to include such probing questions as "I like your plan, but what benefit would I get from it?" and "Do you think that would look good on me?" Likes to live well and to look good doing it.

Personal Information

Short History: Order of the Merlin, Third Class. Honorary Member of the Dark Force Defense League. Five time winner of Witch Weekly's Most-Charming-Smile Award.

Author of such classics as Break with a Banshee, Gaddings with Ghouls, Holidays with Hags, Travels with Trolls, Voyages with Vampires, Wanderings with Werewolves, Year with the Yeti, Gilderoy Lockhart's Guide to Household Pests and Magical Me.

Took over the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the fall of 1992. Had a tragic "accident" involving a miscast Memory Charm and ended up a resident of St. Mungo's long term ward for spell damage. Eventually released after relearning how to be a productive member of society.

Family: Other than the briefest mention of a happy, picturesque childhood suddenly and brutally ended with the tragic death of his entire family, leaving Lockhart with no choice but to grow strong and persevere on his own ... there wasn't really anything in Magical Me.

Friends: Agnes from the Janus Thickey Ward at St. Mungo's often sends him letters, which he happily answers if he's not on a job. Gladys Gudgeon receives a complementary copy of every new photo he poses for — signed of course. Not really anyone else that he can remember. Why, do you know of someone?

Sexual Orientation and History: Straight with tendencies toward pretty.

He used to be quite the bachelor, a woman on his arm at every important event (or so he read in the clippings found in that lovely scrapbook Mrs. Gladys Gudgeon had sent); but then there was the accident and other than escorting Agnes to the Wednesday meal each week (trifle night) there really hasn't been much in the way of romantic entanglements worth mentioning. Oh, Agnes tried, but since she had that unfortunate fur face issue Lockhart had insisted their relationship remained platonic. At least he thinks it did. He's fairly sure.

Magical Information

Abilities: Well suited for Charms, with an odd affinity for Memory Charms in particular. A fair hand at Potions, but prefers to limit his brewing to concoctions of a beautifying nature. Lockhart makes all his own hair and skin care products and hopes to one day market an entire line.

Shortcomings: Divination, Astronomy, Arithmancy, Transfiguration — anything that requires strict concentration. Since the accident Lockhart's mind tends to wander.
