London

London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, is (potentially) the setting and main theater of action for Shattered Wands.

An important settlement for around two millennia, London is today one of the world's leading business, financial and cultural centres and a major global city. Located in southeastern England, London is the most populous city within city limits in the European Union, with an official population of 7.5 million. It has a metropolitan area population of between 12 and 14 million people.

Wizarding Locations of Note

Diagon Alley

Gladrags Wizardwear

Knockturn Alley

The Leaky Cauldron

Ministry of Magic Headquarters

Museum of Quidditch

  • Located somewhere in London. The museum has several exhibits, including: a letter from Modest Rabnott to her sister Prudence regarding the circumstances leading to the use of a Snidget; an eleventh-century diary belonging to Gertie Keddle, who lived on the edge of Queerditch Marsh; a twelfth-century tapestry featuring an attempt to catch a Snidget; and a pre-Cushioning Charm, medieval broomstick.

Number Twelve Grimmauld Place

Platform 9 3/4

  • Platform 9 3/4 — hidden behind the solid barrier between platforms nine and ten — is found at the King's Cross Station. This is the platform that all Hogwarts' students must use to reach the Hogwarts Express. There is a ticket booth and a guard, who makes sure the Muggles on the other side of the barrier aren't disturbed by wizarding travelers.
  • One might assume that there might be other trains running through 9 3/4 as well, otherwise the platform would only be in use twice a year.

St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries

STV Head Office

  • The Head Office for the Society for Tolerance of Vampires is located somewhere in London.
